DeLauro Statement on Biden-Harris’ Nomination of Neera Tanden for Director of the Office of Management and Budget

November 30, 2020

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), Chair of the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee, issued this statement after President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris announced the selection of Neera Tanden for Director of the Office of Management and Budget:

"The economic team President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris have assembled is made up of experienced and accomplished trailblazers that are more than prepared to tackle the crises facing our nation. I am grateful Neera Tanden, someone I have long trusted as a partner in the fight to support working families and broad-based economic growth, will lead OMB through this critical transition.

"With shared priorities like increasing funds and access to food assistance programs like SNAP, universal health care for all through Medicare for America and expanding and improving the Child Tax Credit through the American Family Act, I look forward to working closely with Tanden to implement critical legislation we have long fought to pass. The American people win with Tanden at the head of OMB.

"Together, this economic team inspires hope for a brighter tomorrow and an economy that expands opportunity for every American family."
