DeLauro Statement on General Assembly Approval of UTC Legislation

April 24, 2014

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement today after the Connecticut State Senate passed legislation approving the agreement reached in February between Governor Dannel Malloy and United Technologies Corporation (UTC). With last week’s House approval, the bill now heads to Governor Malloy for his signature.

“This bill represents an important step towards ensuring that the manufacturing sector is a key pillar of Connecticut’s long-term economy. Connecticut has always played a critical role in developing cutting-edge aerospace and defense products, and this commitment from the General Assembly, Governor Malloy and UTC to invest in further research and development, as well as modern manufacturing facilities, will help keep our state at the forefront in this critical sector.”
