DeLauro Statement on House Passage of Continuing Resolution
WASHINGTON, DC — (November 19, 2019) Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement after voting to continue funding the government through December 20, 2019.
“While the House of Representatives worked diligently to pass 10 of 12 appropriations bills before August, delays from Senate Republicans mean we still need time to finalize funding for fiscal year 2020. Nevertheless, this continuing resolution avoids another harmful government shutdown and includes a well-deserved pay raise for our armed forces, full funding for the 2020 Census, extensions for key health and safety net programs, and a provision ensuring federal funding allocated for Connecticut’s transportation infrastructure is not rescinded. These provisions will help working families and the middle class in Connecticut. I urge the Senate to pass this bill without delay.”
