DeLauro Statement on Officer Involved Shooting in New Haven

Chair of the House Appropriations Committee Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today issued a statement in response to an officer involved shooting in New Haven late last night.

"I want to first thank Officer Chad Curry for his bravery and outstanding public service. Every day our officers put their lives on the line, responding to emergencies throughout our communities without knowing what they might be walking into. That is exactly what happened to Officer Curry last night. I am relieved that he suffered no life-threatening injuries and has been released from the hospital, and I applaud New Haven and Hartford police departments for successfully apprehending the suspected shooter this afternoon. Throughout the nation, crime is on the rise, and our brave police officers stand on the frontline. I promise I will always stand by brave officers like Officer Curry, who keep our communities safe and secure."
