DeLauro Statement on the Passing of Congressman Mark Takai

WASHINGTON, DC (July 20, 2016) — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement on the passing of U.S. Representative Mark Takai (HI-01).

“Congressman Takai served the people of Hawaii and our nation with honor and distinction, making a remarkable difference in the lives of so many Americans. From serving our nation in Iraq, to fighting for legislation in the House of Representatives, Mark believed in the power of public service. While the people Hawaii lost an incredible leader today, his commitment to making to making a difference in his community will live on.
