DeLauro Statement on Republicans Abandoning the GOP Health Care Bill

WASHINGTON, DC (March 24, 2017) — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement regarding Speaker Ryan pulling the Republican health care bill from the House Floor after not having enough votes to enact the legislation.

"Millions of Americans have raised their voices and called on Congress to defeat the Republican health care bill and today the American people had a victory. Make no mistake, if you bring a bill to the House Floor that kicks 24 million Americans off their health care plans, raises premiums and deductibles, raids Medicare, and enacts an age tax on older Americans, we will fight. Speaker Ryan and Republicans made the right decision in pulling this bill and if they want to work together to enact improvements to the Affordable Care Act, I will be there."
