DeLauro Statement on Special Counsel Mueller Remarks

NEW HAVEN, CT (May 29, 2019) — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement after Special Counsel Robert Mueller's remarks this morning.

"I thank Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his team for their work over the past two years. Mueller has made it clear that Russia interfered in our elections with the intent to influence the outcome. Additionally, his team's investigation could not exonerate the President of wrongdoing. The Special Counsel stated that their decision not to indict was based directly on Justice Department policies that a sitting President cannot be indicted. This is all the more reason Congress should continue its investigative work on these topics—no one is above the law. President Trump should stop stonewalling Congress' investigation and our duty to uphold the Constitution. These findings are extremely serious, and the American people deserve more."
