DeLauro Statement on Supreme Court’s Ruling on Trump’s Travel Ban

WASHINGTON, DC (June 26, 2017) — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court's decision to review President Trump's executive order banning refugees and immigrants of six Muslim-majority countries, as well as lift parts of the injunctions against the ban's implementation.

"I am disappointed that the Supreme Court is lifting parts of the injunctions against the travel ban's implementation, but I believe that the Supreme Court will ultimately find it unconstitutional. Despite the Trump Administration's claims that the travel ban is about national security, President Trump has made clear that the ban is about religious discrimination. We cannot allow this un-American order to be upheld and American values must always win out over hate and fear."
