DeLauro Statement on Trump Executive Order Undermining the Affordable Care Act

October 12, 2017

WASHINGTON, DC (October 12, 2017) Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement regarding President Trump's executive order allowing associations to sell health plans that do not comply with coverage regulations outlined by the Affordable Care Act.

"President Trump's latest executive order is further proof that he is hell-bent on dismantling the Affordable Care Act and forcing the American people to pay more for less health coverage," said DeLauro. "This action may very well raise premiums for those with pre-existing conditions, who are most in need of affordable coverage."

"Over and over again, the American people have rejected President Trump's and Congressional Republicans' attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act," continued DeLauro. "Now they are forcing their agenda on to the American people through executive order. I once again urge the President and Congressional Republicans to come to the table with Democrats to work on improving the Affordable Care Act to make healthcare more affordable."
