DeLauro Statement on U.S. Justice Department Lawsuit Against Connecticut

January 7, 2026

Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released the following statement following the U.S. Justice Department lawsuit against Connecticut for refusing to provide the Trump Administration with the state’s full voter registration lists.

“The Justice Department’s decision to go after Connecticut for not complying with their unfounded request for our voter registration information is baseless. It’s not a request for transparency as they claim. It’s a request to hand over unrestrained access to sensitive voter information to Donald Trump who has already tried to overturn the results of a presidential election. I’m proud of Connecticut for standing up to this intimidation tactic and I stand behind their decision to protect Connecticut voters and their privacy.”
