DeLauro Statement on Violence in Israel and the West Bank

November 2, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) released the following statement today in regard to recent violence in Israel and the West Bank:

“I am deeply concerned and troubled by the recent escalation in violence in Israel and the West Bank. I pray for the victims and their families.

“I have long been a strong supporter of Israel’s right to defend itself against acts of terrorism. Nobody should live in fear of threat to their life or wellbeing or of the safety of their families.

“The events that have transpired this month highlight the urgent need for a return to peaceful negotiations by Secretary Kerry, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and President Abbas. This violence and the rhetoric driving it must come to an end immediately so that everyone can work together toward a two-state solution.”
