DeLauro Supports Bill Funding DHS for One Week

February 28, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) tonight voted for a bill funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for one week.

“I supported this legislation only as a stepping-stone to passage of a bipartisan bill that funds DHS for the rest of the fiscal year. We cannot continue to fund DHS on a piecemeal basis, to the detriment of the thousands of employees and the many cities and towns that depend on the support to help keep our fellow citizens safe and secure. Next week, we will vote on a long-term funding bill as promised. The American people deserve better than what we have seen from the House Majority today.”
