DeLauro Votes Against Republican Plan to Decimate Medicaid

Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) voted against Republican’s budget proposal which would gut Medicaid by $880 billion and leave 80 million Americans without healthcare. 

“Unelected billionaire Elon Musk is targeting Medicaid, where one third of Americans get their healthcare,” said DeLauro. “That is 40 percent of children, people with disabilities, most low wage workers, and seniors in nursing homes or receiving care at home. These cuts would mean closed hospitals in rural areas, closed community health centers, and many mothers and babies endangered at birth. We need the government to fight for the middle-class, the working-class, and the vulnerable. Fight for us, not Musk.”
