Listed below is a summary of the 15 projects Congresswoman DeLauro submitted to the House Appropriations Committee for Fiscal Year (FY) 2027, along with each project's recipient, requested amount, and required financial disclosure letter. The projects are listed in alphabetical order by municipality location.
In compliance with House Rules and Committee requirements, Congresswoman DeLauro has certified that she, her spouse, and her immediate family have no financial interest in any of the projects she has requested.
Requested Projects:
Ansonia – City of Ansonia - $ 1,792,000
- The City of Ansonia requests $1,792,000 to support a comprehensive capital improvement project for the City’s historic, 130-year-old library facility. This Public Library is a vital community resource, serving residents of all ages, but it now faces significant structural, mechanical, and safety challenges that threaten its continued operation and the preservation of its historic character. These investments represent a comprehensive approach to preserving a historic public asset while ensuring it meets modern standards for safety, accessibility, and efficiency.

Bethany – Town of Bethany - $1,482,217
- The Town of Bethany requests $1,482,217 to support a complete comprehensive interior and exterior rehabilitation to the Veterans Memorial Lodge, the only multi-purpose public facility in Bethany, Connecticut. The funding will support transforming the Lodge into a safe, accessible, and resilient community resource that will serve every resident for decades to come. The Veterans Memorial Lodge is the community's sole public gathering facility, and its current condition prevents it from meeting the full range of community needs.

Hamden – Town of Hamden - $2,400,000
- The Town of Hamden requests $2,400,000 to replace end-of-life HVAC equipment and controls, and upgrade to energy-efficient LED lighting at the Miller Memorial Library and Miller Senior Center, Hamden’s main library and the Miller Senior Center and Senior Community Café, and the Elderly Outreach Office are the primary services for the Town’s elderly population. The project also includes installing energy-efficient LED lighting systems to help reduce the Without replacement of the remaining end-of-life units, the Town faces an increasing risk of system-wide failures that would disrupt library services and senior center programming.

Hamden – Town of Hamden - $702,967
- The Town of Hamden requests $702,967 to support a complete comprehensive interior and exterior renovations to the Louise A. Brundage Community Branch Library, the oldest of the Hamden Public Library’s branch locations. This branch serves as a community anchor for residents who face barriers to accessing services, technology, and educational resources elsewhere. The library’s impact on the community is measurable and growing. With nearly 6,000 annual visits despite limited hours, the branch is a critical access point for residents who rely on its technology resources, digital literacy support, children’s and teen programming, and community gathering space.

Hamden – Town of Hamden - $2,450,094
- The Town of Hamden requests $2,450,094 to support the rehabilitation of the M.L. Keefe Community Center, the Town’s most important community facility, including energy-efficient improvements such as HVAC system replacement and energy-efficient window installation. The project will restore the Warming Center’s ability to operate on-site, expand the Food Bank’s capacity by constructing a commercial-grade kitchen, improve accessibility for elderly and disabled residents, and create a safer, healthier, and more energy-efficient environment for all users of the facility.

Hamden – Town of Hamden - $3,000,000
- The Town of Hamden requests $3 million to partially fund construction of a new Emergency Operations Center. This will reduce response times and improve the effectiveness of emergency management, improve safety, enhance community resilience, and promote cooperation amongst first responders.

New Haven – New Haven Police Department - $1,100,000
- The New Haven Police Department requests $1.1 million to replace the police department elements of the 9-1-1- dispatch equipment. This request includes updates to police department radio repeaters as well as end user radios, replacement of police department antennas, spare backup fixed radio equipment, dispatch radio console upgrades and system site hardening.The New Haven Police Department elements of this system are more than 20 years old and a combination of analog and digital components that do not always connect as efficiently as they might. The investment in this program will assure a rapid, but more importantly reliable police response to 9-1-1 calls which often involve the imminent loss of safety and security in a community, as well as potential loss of life and property perpetrated through criminal activity.

New Haven – University of New Haven - $2,275,000
- The University of New Haven requests $2.275 million to equip the University of New Haven Regional Cobot Access Center for Manufacturing Workforce Readiness, providing hands-on training and applied research in collaborative robotics, integrated workcells, CNC machining, 3D printing, laser cutting, and digital manufacturing technologies. The Center will equip students, workforce participants, and regional manufacturers with industry-aligned skills in automation, safety, and advanced production processes. By training the next generation workforce on cutting-edge equipment used by local and national advanced manufacturing and technology companies, the facility directly addresses the national skills gap in robotics and advanced manufacturing, reduces employer training costs, and supports U.S. industrial competitiveness.

New Haven – Tweed New Haven Airport - $2,000,000
- The Tweed New Haven Airport Authority requests funds for expansion costs associated with the addition of a second operational Airfield Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicle.

- The New Haven Parking Authority requests funds for infrastructure investment and acquisition for the expanded Ride New Haven Hub Connectivity project.

Orange / Milford – Route 1 Improvements - $5,000,000
- The Connecticut Department of Transportation is requesting funding to perform operational lane and pedestrian improvements along U.S. Route 1.

West Haven – City of West Haven - $1,100,000
- The Town is requesting funding to expand their Emergency Operation Center capabilities and help improve security in the school system. If implemented, City residents will benefit from a modernized and effective EOC that can quickly respond and communicate during critical situations. This will reduce response times and improve the effectiveness of emergency management, improve safety, enhance community resilience, and promote cooperation amongst first responders.

Shelton – CIty of Shelton Police Department - $2,100,000
- The City of Shelton Police Department requests $2.1 million to upgrade their current radio communications infrastructure, which has exceeded its operational lifecycle and presents a growing risk to public safety operations. This funding will support the acquisition and deployment of the equipment necessary to complete this transition. Funding will be used to purchase and install three dispatch consoles, 55 portable radios for sworn personnel, and 45 mobile radios for patrol vehicles. The funding will also support system programming, installation, testing, and full integration into the statewide radio network.

Wallingford – Town of Wallingford - $1,426,838
- The Town of Wallingford requests 1,426,838 to support exterior improvements and restoration of the historic railroad station building. Restoring the station for a new use has the potential to increase area pedestrian traffic, stimulate the local economy, retain jobs, spark property improvements and transit-oriented development, attract new business and positively impact on the quality of life in Wallingford.

Woodbridge – Town of Woodbridge - $1,570,000
- The Town is requesting $1,570,000 for the federal share of costs for the complete update and renovation of our emergency operations center and related spaces located in our police department. The upgraded Emergency Operations Center in Woodbridge will perform several critical functions to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to emergencies.
