Part of a Total $8.9 Billion Contract
NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement on the news $10.8 million in contract modifications has been awarded to Sikorsky for an additional Black Hawk helicopter to be assembled at Sikorsky headquarters in Stratford.
HARTFORD, CT – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the southbound side of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge on I-95 in New Haven – informally known as the Q Bridge – is scheduled to open approximately eight months ahead of schedule. Construction of the main span bridge was completed in July 2015 on schedule and on budget.

Effort to Better Inform Consumers Needed in Fight Against Childhood Obesity And Diabetes
WASHINGTON, DC--Congresswoman DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement on this morning’s announcement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that they will be extending the Claims Review deadline for Hurricane Sandy until October 15th. FEMA’s announcement comes on the heels of an announcement made earlier in the day by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that it will not require repayment of potential ‘duplicate’ benefits from most homeowners who received increased flood insurance claim payments tied to Superstorm Sandy.

“Fred DeLuca was many things – a brilliant entrepreneur, a savvy businessman, a generous philanthropist – and to me he was also a dear friend. I was heartbroken to learn that he had lost his battle with leukemia.
NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today applauded the news that three Connecticut health centers have received $2,053,285 to increase access to primary health care. The grants are part of $500 million awarded to over 1,000 health centers nationally by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The Connecticut awards are:
• $995,000 for Community Health Center, Incorporated of Middletown to build a new facility in New London
• $447,834 for Community Health Center, Inc. to expand service at its existing locations
