Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member on the Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, issued the following statement in response to USDA's announcement that it will offer more choices to schools in the National School Lunch Program when it comes to purchases of ground beef products in response to consumer concerns over the use of lean finely textured beef or "pink slime" in school lunches.

Urge Action on Postal Reforms Before Wallingford, Stamford Centers Close


WASHINGTON—In response to a final notice that the United States Postal Service (USPS) will close mail processing facilities in Wallingford and Stamford, Congressman Chris Murphy and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro today called on Speaker of the House John Boehner to immediately schedule a vote on legislation to reform the postal service by cutting wasteful spending without cutting jobs or critical services.

(Hartford, CT) – Today, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) joined mangers, employees, and workforce development leaders to spotlight a $10 million federal investment in Connecticut's advanced manufacturing workforce. Connecticut's Workforce Alliance and Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board were awarded $4.97 million and $5 million, respectively, by the U.S. Department of Labor last week.
