WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today released the following statement applauding the National Endowment for the Arts’ Our Town grant for Oddfellows Playhouse in Middletown, the only Connecticut organization to be awarded one today. The $50,000 award will be used to design a new facility after Oddfellows’s previous building was destroyed by snowstorms last year. DeLauro is a longtime supporter of Oddfellows and its mission of working with at-risk youth and low-income families.

DeLauro is a senior Democrat on the committee that funds the USDA, which administers the food stamp program, and a longtime nutrition and anti-hunger champion. When the last Farm Bill was passed in 2008 DeLauro was part of an effort to increase food stamps in that bill.
