WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee, along with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Ranking Member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, introduced legislation that would ensure the United States finally joins virtually every other major country on Earth in guaranteeing paid sick leave to its workers.
Sanders and DeLauro were joined on the legislation by 29 Senators and by 138 House members.

Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) voted in support of funding legislation to reopen the government following a partial lapse in funding that caused a shutdown over the weekend:
“The funding bill passed today ensures that essential agencies can resume operations in service to the American people: the Departments of Defense, Education, Labor, Health and Human Services, State, Treasury, Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development will all be fully funded through the end of September.
