Will Accompany Him into the House Chamber This Morning

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) announced today that she has been selected to serve on the Escort Committee for Pope Francis’ address to Congress this morning. DeLauro was asked to serve on the Committee, which will accompany Pope Francis along the center aisle en route to the rostrum where he will deliver his speech, by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

The Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal is an expression of appreciation from the South Korean government to U.S. service men and women who served in the Korean War.

NEW HAVEN, CT--Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) released the following statement today on the sentencing of Stewart and Michael Parnell, former executives at the Peanut Corporation of America. DeLauro is the former chair, and currently serves as a senior member, of the subcommittee responsible for funding the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). DeLauro called for a Department of Justice investigation into Peanut Corporation of America in January 2009.

NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) released the following statement today on a newly released Association of American Universities report showing that more than one in five female undergraduate students at 27 of our nation’s top universities have suffered a sexual attack. Yale University, located in DeLauro’s congressional district, was one of the schools surveyed.

Part of a Total $8.9 Billion Contract

HARTFORD, CT – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the southbound side of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge on I-95 in New Haven – informally known as the Q Bridge – is scheduled to open approximately eight months ahead of schedule. Construction of the main span bridge was completed in July 2015 on schedule and on budget.
