NEW HAVEN, CT—Four members of Connecticut’s congressional delegation—Rosa DeLauro, Joe Courtney, Jim Himes and Elizabeth Esty—released the following statement today on Judge Stefan Underhill’s decision to temporarily stop UnitedHealthcare from dropping 2,200 doctors from its Medicare Advantage network.
WASHINGTON, DC—In light of reports that House and Senate Chairmen are close to an agreement to revive “fast-track” procedures that would force the Trans-Pacific Partnership and other trade agreements through Congress, Representatives Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Louise Slaughter (D-NY), and GeorgeMiller (D-CA) restated their opposition to fast-track procedures that deny Congress its Constitutional authority to amend trade agreements.

Would Boost Funding For National Security, Medical Research, Education by Closing Tax Loopholes
WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Representatives Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) introduced the Sequester Delay and Stop Tax Haven Abuse Act. The bill would end the crippling, indiscriminate sequestration budget cuts to discretionary programs for fiscal years 2014-2015 and reduce them for 2016. The Sequester Delay and Stop Tax Haven Abuse Act is fully paid for by closing offshore corporate tax loopholes.

NEW HAVEN, CT— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) announced two recent staff additions to her Washington and New Haven offices today: Kelly Horton and Sam Carmody.
Horton comes to DeLauro’s office after working as a Lecturer in Health Sciences at the University of Bridgeport, and previously as a policy director with the National Council on Aging. She has also served in the office of Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY). Horton holds a Masters in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition from Tufts University.

They are asking the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to conduct a review of crop insurance payments and shed some light on how much of the payments go to wealthy individuals and families.
