Washington, DC — Representatives Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Russ Carnahan (MO-3), and Peter Welch (VT-D) introduced the Job Creation and Energy Efficiency Act today. This legislation will create jobs and encourage private sector growth by making energy efficiency upgrades to existing buildings.

New Haven, CT — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, introduced the Diaper Investment and Aid to Promote Economic Recovery Act (DIAPER) Act today to provide diapers and diapering supplies to needy families through child care providers.

Bill will provide women with information about breast density, risk for developing breast cancerWashington, D.C.— Representatives Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) and Steve Israel (NY-2) introduced the Breast Density and Mammography Reporting Act of 2011 today, which will help raise awareness of breast cancer risks and the importance of appropriate screening. Each year, approximately 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 American women die from the disease. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, which seeks to raise awareness about the disease.

New Haven, CT — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) held a press availability today with local Mayors, First Selectmen, and Town Managers from the Third Congressional District following a meeting about the response to Tropical Storm Irene.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the disaster response of local communities, the state, and the federal government and to find out what worked, what problems were encountered, and how to improve future responses.
