Washington, DC— Congresswoman RosaDeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member on the Labor, Education, Health, andHuman Services Appropriations Subcommittee, released the followingstatement today in response to the recall of all Papayas imported fromMexico by Agromod Produce, Inc. of McAllen, Texas due to potentialSalmonella contamination. Currently, there are 97 cases of Salmonellapoisoning across 23 states, including 10 hospitalizations that arepossibly linked to these Papayas.
Washington, DC— Today, over 40 Members of the House led by Representatives Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Sander Levin (D-MI) and Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), introduced the Stop Tax Haven Abuse Act, which would curb abuses of the international tax laws that cost taxpayers nearly $100 billion a year. Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) recently introduced the same legislation in the Senate.
