Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Chairwoman of the FDA and Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, released the following statement in reaction to the FDA's announcement banning the addition of caffeine to alcoholic beverages. This will effectively ban dangerous drinks such as Four Loko, which has been linked to health concerns. These caffeinated alcoholic beverages had previously received Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement in response to the cloture vote taken by the Senate on the Paycheck Fairness Act, which failed 58-41. First introduced by Congresswoman DeLauro in 1997, the Paycheck Fairness Act would strengthen the Equal Pay Act and help ensure that women are paid equally for their work. The legislation was passed with the first vote taken in the House of Representatives this Congress, and has the support of President Obama.

This new station has been a goal of the City of West Haven since 2001, and will provide parking, commercial, and residential use for the surrounding area. Congresswoman DeLauro has secured $3.5 million for this project over the last nine years.
