Pelosi responds to delegation letter urging House vote


Washington, DC— Representatives Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), John Larson (CT-1), Joe Courtney (CT-2), Jim Himes (CT-4), and Chris Murphy (CT-5), praised Speaker Pelosi's decision to bring the Seniors Protection Act, H.R. 5987, to a vote during Congress's upcoming legislative session. The Social Security Administration announced on Friday that, for the second consecutive year, there will be no Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for recipients this year.

New Haven, CT – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3) visited Prestige Tool Manufacturing in Milford, CT today, a local small business specializing in manufacturing, to meet with company employees and tour the facility.

Founded in 1983 by Ken Dugan, Prestige Tool manufactures milled and custom products from various materials including stainless steel, carbon and lead steels, and most types of plastics. They use state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing processes to supply their clients with high quality parts.

Washington, DC – Today Representatives Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3), John B. Larson (CT-1), and Joe Courtney (CT-2) joined together to ask United States Attorney General Eric Holder to fully investigate recent reports that financial institutions have been using fraudulent practices like "robo-signing," signing documents without reading them, in order to quickly process foreclosures. Such practices have led to wrongful foreclosures on an untold number of households that have not defaulted on their mortgages.

Bill will educate women and raise awareness about gynecologic cancers


Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) celebrated the passage late last night of the Gynecologic Cancer Education and Awareness Act of 2010 by the House of Representatives. This was bipartisan effort to reauthorize Johanna's Law, which works to educate women about the symptoms, risk factors, and prevention of gynecologic cancers such as ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancers.

Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Chairwoman of the FDA and Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, introduced the Consumers Right to Know Food Labeling Act, which would require the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to mandate the labeling of genetically-modified fish. Additionally, the bill would require the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to mandate that products of cloned animals be labeled if intended for consumption.
