DeLauro (Conn. -3) announced over $1.5 million for Yale University and the University of Connecticut through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for medical research. The National Institute of Health directs funding to projects that focus on basic research to improve the quality of life and reduce the burdens of illness and disability.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn. -3) voted to pass the COPS Improvement Act (H.R. 1139), which will reinvigorate the highly successful COPS program. This legislation calls for adding 50,000 additional police officers on the street over the next 5 years – authorizing $1.25 billion a year for COPS (Community Oriented Policing Services) hiring grants.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (Conn. -3) announced $48 million for the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for clean water efforts throughout the state.
