This grant is one of 29 awards nationwide to help connect job seekers to employment as the economy continues to recover and rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) and Congressman Jake Auchincloss (D-MA-04) today introduced the We Need Eviction Data Now Act of 2021, which would create a national database to standardize data and track evictions. This legislation would also establish a Federal Advisory Committee on Eviction Research to make recommendations related to eviction data collection and create policies to prevent the removal of families and individuals from their homes.

House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) today introduced the Fresh Produce Procurement Reform Act, legislation to increase and improve the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) procurement of fresh fruits and vegetables. The bill would require USDA to partner with growers, distributors, and food hubs to provide fresh, U.S.-grown fruits and vegetables to community organizations like schools, local food pantries, and youth organizations while prioritizing socially disadvantaged farmers and entities, regional food inequities, and local and regional food systems.

House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) and Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Tim Ryan (D-OH-13) released a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report requested in June 2018 to examine food policy and how it connects to public health. The GAO report found that a cohesive strategy across governments agencies could help to improve American’s diets and prevent chronic health conditions like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity.
