Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act, legislation that authorizes investments to strengthen our national security and support our servicemembers. 

Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), was selected by her Democratic colleagues to continue serving as Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee for the 119th Congress.

Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) announced that she had been selected as the new Democratic Co-Chair of the Italian American Congressional Delegation (IACD): 

“Italian Americans are an integral part of our nation’s diverse cultural makeup. Growing up in Wooster Square—the heart of New Haven’s Italian American community—I learned the value of hard work, faith, family, responsibility, and community. These values were present everywhere in our neighborhood, from the religious societies to our own kitchen table.

Today, U.S. Representatives Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) and Gabe Amo (RI-01) introduced the Southern New England Regional Commission Act. The Southern New England Regional Commission Act would establish a commission that would encourage jurisdictions at different levels to work together to leverage federal support to strengthen the area’s economy.

U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal today announced a $1 million cooperative agreement awarded to ClimateHaven, a cutting-edge climate technology incubator based in New Haven, CT. The award comes from the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) Prize and marks a significant investment in Connecticut’s clean energy future.

Today, FDA Deputy Commissioner for Human Foods Jim Jones confirmed in a Senate hearing that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to finalize their decision on the carcinogenic food dye FD&C Red No. 3, known as Red 3, in the use of foods in the coming weeks. “Senator Tuberville: Let me say this, Red 3 has been known to cause cancer in cosmetic s but we still allow it to be put in our food… I don’t understand that. 

Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released the following statement: 

“This afternoon, I received a bomb threat similar to my colleagues in the Connecticut congressional delegation. The New Haven Police Department’s bomb squad has responded and determined no bomb was present at our home. I am thankful for their swift response and relieved no one was harmed. 

“I am grateful for local, state, and federal law enforcements efforts to keep me, my colleagues, and our community safe today.”

“I applaud the Biden Administration for their work to end hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. This ceasefire is a critical step forward in restoring stability in the region and allowing innocent civilians to return to their homes and rebuild their lives.
