NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today received a status briefing on the emerald ash borer beetle and toured the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES). DeLauro was accompanied by CAES Director Louis Magnarelli and Connecticut’s State Entomologist, Dr. Kirby Stafford.

NAUGATUCK, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) received an update on cleanup efforts today and visited with business and home owners who suffered damage in Wednesday’s storm. DeLauro has been in touch with Mayor Mezzo, who accompanied her today, and Governor Malloy since the storm. DeLauro and Mezzo first met at Naugatuck City Hall and then toured local businesses that were flooded when nearly five inches of rain fell in about an hour.

Republican Plan Would Raise Taxes on Military Families
WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) today denounced the Republican tax plan that would raise taxes on middle-class military families while cutting taxes for millionaires. Their plan, passed yesterday by the House of Representatives, would severely curtail or end vitally important tax cuts for working and middle class families, including slashing the Child Tax Credit by an average of nearly $854 for nearly nine million families, pushing two million children into poverty.
