New Haven, CT— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) visited the Naugatuck manufacturing location for Flabeg Solar US Corporation today, where she toured the site, met with employees, and discussed the innovative and green energy technologies being developed and produced. She was joined by Naugatuck Mayor Bob Mezzo.

New Haven, CT— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today visited the East Haven Senior Center and spoke about the changes to the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

LIHEAP is a federal program that provides annual home-heating grants for low-income households, and is distributed in two ways: to states using a statutory formula, and allocated by the Administration in cases of emergency. From her seat on the Labor, Health and Human Services Subcommittee, Congresswoman DeLauro has long been a champion of LIHEAP and helped to double its funding to $5.1 billion in 2008.

"I was very saddened to hear of the explosion at the Kleen Energy power plant in Middletown this morning. I have spoken with Mayor Giuliano and Governor Rell and will do whatever I can to help during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this tragedy, and I will continue to be in contact with local, state, and federal officials as we move forward."

"The announcement today reinforces the value of a national traceability system to animal health and our livestock markets.
