(Washington, D.C.) - Senators Joseph Lieberman (I-CT), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Representative Rosa DeLauro (CT-4) today announced $5,702,298 for a Stationary Fuel Cell for the Connecticut Transit New Haven Division Bus Maintenance Facility. The grant was awarded through a competitive program that is part of the Transit Investments for Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reduction (TIGGER) Program.

(Washington, DC) – The Connecticut Congressional Delegation today sent a letter to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner Doug Shulman urging the agency to extend IRS filing and payment deadlines for Connecticut residents affected by the recent snow storm that hit Connecticut and left hundreds of thousands without power for days.

The October snow storm struck Connecticut on October 29 and initially left more than 800,000 Connecticut residents without power.

VOW to Hire Heroes Act will create jobs, put veterans to work

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member on the Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, praised the passage of the Veterans Opportunity to Work (VOW) to Hire Heroes Act today. This legislation will provide veterans with job training opportunities and businesses with tax credits to encourage them to hire service members and veterans with service-related disabilities as proposed in President Obama’s American Jobs Act.

WASHINGTON – The Connecticut Congressional delegation Friday urged President Obama to grant Governor Malloy’s request for a major disaster declaration for the state as a result of a crippling snowstorm that left 880,000 households without power.

Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) announced today that Aleksandr Morosky, a former Staff Sergeant in the United States Army, has joined her New Haven staff to work on veterans and constituent services.

Morosky served in the Infantry for seven years and deployed three times. During his second tour of duty in Iraq, Morosky was in a vehicle struck by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and was seriously wounded. He received the Purple Heart, and after leaving the Army, enrolled in the University of Connecticut and earned a degree in Political Science.
