WASHINGTON, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) expressed concern today that voluntary guidance released by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will not result in the reduced use of antibiotics in food production. DeLauro also expressed has concerns that data on antibiotic usage made available to the public and researchers will remain limited.
WASHINGTON, DC— The Connecticut delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives applauded today’s passage of the Department of Veterans Affairs Major Medical Facility Lease Authorization Act of 2013 by the House of Representatives. The bill authorizes funds to pay for leases at 27 major medical facilities nationwide, including the Errera Community Care Center in West Haven. It was passed by a vote of 346 to 1 and now moves on to the Senate for approval.
WASHINGTON, DC--Representatives Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Ron Kind (D-WI) and Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) today implored Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor to keep loopholes for multimillionaires closed in any final Farm Bill. Both the House and Senate-passed versions of the Farm Bill reformed payment limits for commodity programs by capping the total number of “active personal management” who can receive commodity payments.
