New USDA Report Shows Problem Is Not Dissipating

(Hartford, CT) – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-3), U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn), U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and  announced today the award of a $10 million federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant to the Connecticut Department of Transportation to construct a second platform at New Haven's State Street Station, a key expansion to facilitate trains for the planned New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail line.

NEW HAVEN, CT – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (D-CT) today raised her strong objections to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)'s move to grant China's poultry processing plants standards of food safety equivalency to those in the United States.  As the former Chairwoman and current senior member of the subcommittee responsible for funding USDA, DeLauro has long fought to ensure trade does not trump public health and that unsafe poultry products from China do not enter the United States.
