New Haven, CT – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3) visited Bailey Middle School in West Haven, CT today to speak to the students about Veterans Day and learn about their participation in Operation Gratitude.

Washington, DC— Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) announced today that Aleksandr Morosky, a former Staff Sergeant in the United States Army, has joined her New Haven staff to work on veterans and constituent services.

Morosky served in the Infantry for seven years and deployed three times. During his second tour of duty in Iraq, Morosky was in a vehicle struck by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and was seriously wounded. He received the Purple Heart, and after leaving the Army, enrolled in the University of Connecticut and earned a degree in Political Science.

New Haven, CT – Six members of the Connecticut Congressional Delegation called for an investigation today into the response of Connecticut Light & Power and its parent company, Northeast Utilities, to the October 29 storm that left more than 2 million households without power, including over 850,000 in Connecticut. Six days later, there are still approximately 300,000 without power in the state.

WASHINGTON – The Connecticut delegation sought additional federal aid for the state in a letter sent Wednesday to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. Federal aid began flowing to Connecticut earlier this week after the President declared a state of emergency as a result of an unusually powerful autumn snowstorm that caused extensive damage and left more than 800,000 customers without power. More than half a million people are still without power.
