Hartford, CT – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), and Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Chris Murphy (D-CT), today announced a $1.2 million federal grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to repair 53 antique trolleys housed at the Shore Line Trolley Museum that were badly damaged during Storm Sandy.

Bridgeport, CT- Today, U.S Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-3) and Congressman Jim Himes (D-4) announced a $14 million, five-year federal grant for The WorkPlace in Bridgeport to train low-income individuals for careers in health professions. The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and is part of the Healthcare Professional Opportunity Program.

Hearing Was Not Oversight – It Was A Witch Hunt

Washington, DC – Last night, Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY) sent a letter to Speaker Boehner about the recent hearing in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee with the President of Planned Parenthood. Following the hearing, the Chairman of the Committee admitted that he had identified no evidence that Planned Parenthood had violated any laws.

More Than 250 Connecticut First-Graders Participated in Last Year’s Session

NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today kicked off her annual youth reading program, Rosa’s Readers, at New Haven’s Worthington Hooker Elementary School. Last year more than 250 Connecticut first graders participated in the program, which requires students to read 20 or more books with their parents, siblings, relatives and teachers, over the next three months. Successful students will receive a special Certificate of Achievement.
