WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) today called on Republicans who control the House of Representatives to bring up a clean bill funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the rest of the fiscal year. Connecticut alone has 1,469 members of the Coast Guard, law enforcement officials, disaster response officials, and many other DHS personnel who now face the prospect of a shutdown at midnight.

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) today won a commitment from United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack that he would suspend the Uniform Labeling Regulation so that the long-pending rule for labeling mechanically tenderized beef (MTB) products can finally be issued. DeLauro asked Secretary Vilsack to take this step in a letter sent last week.
