(HARTFORD, CT) – Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) and Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the state will be receiving an additional $65 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to bolster Connecticut's Superstorm Sandy recovery efforts. With this funding, Connecticut has now received over the last year an unprecedented $500 million in aid from the federal government to support recovery and relief efforts in order to support residents, local education systems, small businesses, non-profits, and municipalities.

WASHINGTON, DC—As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Congresswomen Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) today continued their bipartisan push to rid America of child trafficking. They were joined by 79 of their colleagues from both sides of the aisle in introducing a resolution declaring "Our Daughters Are Not For Sale." The resolution condemns child trafficking and sexual exploitation, and encourages law enforcement to help victims and end these practices for good.

NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today met with 15 Connecticut veterans at risk of losing their Veterans Affairs' covered residential care at West Haven's Seacrest Retirement Home. She also spoke with U.S. VA Under Secretary for Health Dr. Robert Petzel about those veterans' cases, as well as the eight veterans at Highview Manor in Hamden and Mattatuck Health Care in Waterbury who are in the same situation.

WASHINGTON, DC—Representatives Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Louise Slaughter (D-NY) today questioned the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and US Department of Agriculture (USDA) on their dealings on the recent Salmonella Heidelberg outbreak. Over 400 people have been sickened since 2012 by Foster Farms chicken that has been linked to the outbreak.
