Seniors Protected From Premium Increase
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (D-CT) today heralded the passage of H.R. 3631, the Medicare Premium Fairness Act, which will protect Medicare beneficiaries from a projected premium increase of up to 20% next year.
"In this economy, seniors and persons with disabilities who rely on Medicare Part B are already having enough trouble making ends meet," said Congresswoman DeLauro. "Now is not the time to raise these premiums, not when so many people are struggling."
$116,000 Grant Will Fund Programs to Reduce Gun Crime

$2.85 Million Grant Will Fund New Bus Maintenance Facility

DeLauro (D-CT) today heralded the announcement by the Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration that $2.85 million has been made available to the state of Connecticut for construction of a new bus maintenance facility in Hamden, CT. The facility and garage will serve the New Haven Division of CT Transit, and replaces a current obsolete garage. The new facility will be able to accommodate a fleet of 150 buses and 20 support vehicles.
