New Haven, CT — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) and the entire Connecticut Congressional delegation held a teleconference call with farmers from the around the state affected by Tropical Storm Irene and representatives from the Farm Service Agency (FSA), the National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and the Connecticut Department of Agriculture to address their concerns and discuss the ongoing recovery efforts.

Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member on the Labor, Education, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, praised the induction of Isabelle Kelley into the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Hall of Heroes today.

Begun in 2000, the USDA's Hall of Heroes honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the agency and its mission of providing leadership on food, agriculture, and natural resources based on public policy and science.

"September 11th, 2001 is a day that left its mark on all of us – above all those at Ground Zero in New York and at the Pentagon. When the towers fell, they took so many dear to us, and created a stark and tragic imagery that we all still relive.

Washington, DC — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member on the Labor, Education, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, issued the following statement praising the U.S. Department of Agriculture's actions in expanding testing for six additional strains of E. coli bacteria.

Congresswoman DeLauro, a long-time food safety advocate, wrote to OMB Director Jacob Lew in June and to Secretary Vilsack in July urging the Administration to issue a strong rule that would identify these six strains of E. coli as adulterants and protect the public from harm.
