"Today the FDA announced that they are delaying the compliance deadline for the new nutrition facts labels. Consumers must now wait another 18 months to get the information they need to evaluate products and make healthy choices. We have an obesity crisis in our country that will be exasperated by this unnecessary delay."

GUILFORD, CT (September 22, 2017) — Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) and U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced $1,560,526 in federal funding to the Town of Guilford from the Federal Emergency Management Administration's (FEMA) Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program. The funding will allow the Guilford Fire Department to hire 8 new firefighters.
