NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), joined by Connecticut Department of Children and Families Commissioner Joette Katz and advocates for infants and toddlers, today announced that the Safe Babies Court Team project is expanding from New Haven to Milford. The Court Team works to improve how the courts, child welfare agencies, and related child-serving organizations work together, share information, and expedite services for young children in state custody.

NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) and Val Dolcini, Administrator of the United States Farm Service Agency, today marked National Dairy Month with a tour of Greenbacker’s Brookfield Farm. While there, they also met with local dairy farmers and Connecticut advocates, and discussed the issues facing our state’s farmers.

First Subcommittee Consideration of Funding Legislation Since 2012

WASHINGTON, DC--Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), today led Democrats on the Labor-Health and Human Services-Education Appropriations Subcommittee on the subcommittee’s first markup in three years. In 2013, the markup was canceled the day before it was scheduled to be held and last year no bill was introduced.

One of 23 Awarded To Small Businesses Nationwide

NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) today announced Precision Combustion, Inc. has won the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)’s Tibbetts Award. Precision Combustion was one of 23 small businesses, six individuals and three organizations to win the award nationwide. DeLauro wrote to the SBA in support of Precision Combustion’s nomination in April. A copy of that letter can be viewed here.

Funding Will Provide Employment Services to People Transitioning From Jail Back to the Community

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) released the following statement today applauding the news New Haven’s Workforce Alliance, Inc. has won a $500,000 grant to provide career services to inmates in the six months before their release and continuing during their transition back into the broader community. The services will be available at the New Haven Correctional Center.
