The House Appropriations Committee today released the draft fiscal year 2021 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) funding bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. The legislation includes funding for programs within the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and other related agencies, including the Social Security Administration.

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), Chair of the House Appropriations Committee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, today announced Katelynn Thorpe will serve as her Communications Director. Katelynn Thorpe most recently served as Communications Director for Congresswoman Nita Lowey (NY-17), Chair of the House Appropriations Committee. A graduate from the University of California Berkeley, she previously taught middle school math as a Teach For America educator in Providence, Rhode Island. While teaching, Thorpe earned her Master’s in Education from Rhode Island College. Thorpe replaces Will Serio, who will be attending the University of California Berkeley School of Law.
