Washington, DC -- Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) issued the following statement today on the passing of former Milford mayor and long-time former city clerk, Alan H. Jepson.

“It is difficult to put into words what Alan Jepson has meant to the Milford community - - he was one-of-a-kind. A rare individual who dedicated a lifetime to public service, Alan was a reflection of all that we hope and expect community leaders to be. He helped to shape the very character of this community and the City of Milford will not be the same without him. His passing marks the end of an era.”

NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) released the following statement today commending the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for proposing to include the percent daily value for added sugars on the Nutrition Facts label found on packaged foods. WASHINGTON, DC—The House of Representatives will vote today on an amendment introduced by Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) to a controversial bill that would limit the ability of states like Connecticut to require labeling of Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) ingredients in food. What has become known as the DARK Act would overturn laws in Connecticut and other states relating to GMO ingredients and crops.
