Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement regarding the recent tornadoes that caused damage across Connecticut.

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro today released the following statement upon the conclusion of the American, Canadian, and Mexican trade ministers’ latest meeting to renegotiate NAFTA.

Earlier this week, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) and Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) sent a letter to United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar urging him to immediately fire Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Director Scott Lloyd. Recent reports indicate that Lloyd’s appalling policies have kept immigrant children detained for an average of eight months, substantially longer than the maximum 45-day periods of custody in Fiscal Year 2016. This news follows previous calls for his resignation given his personal interference to prevent immigrant women from accessing abortion care.

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro today released the following statement regarding House Republicans’ introduction of legislation mirroring the Trump Administration’s rescission package request.

The Connecticut Congressional Delegation sent a letter to United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar expressing their opposition to the Trump administration’s proposed changes to the Title X program, which ensures that people have access to reproductive healthcare.

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro today introduced new legislation requiring cities and towns to digitize their most recent three years of housing code violations in an easy, accessible manner if they receive federal funding through the United States Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant Program. Currently, many cities and towns require individuals to submit a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in order to see if a property has had housing code violations, such as lead-based paint, issues with insects or vermin, and other health or safety violations. The Know Your Home Act would ensure prospective renters can just type in the address of the home they are interested in into an online portal to see the property’s history of housing code issues.
